I have spent more than 15 years working with websites, SEO and online promotion. Yet I kept putting off a proper website of my own because Facebook, Instagram and YouTube seemed sufficient. SHCHOKIN.PRO appeared when I realised I wanted more than another place to post content: I wanted one site where everything was organised properly and where I was responsible for every word.
Why I Decided to Create This Website
I have spent more than 15 years working with websites, SEO and online promotion, yet I kept postponing a site of my own. This first article is about why social media eventually stopped being enough and why I decided to build SHCHOKIN.PRO.
I spent years building and promoting websites for other people. I kept postponing my own
There is some irony in that. For years I thought about website structure, search, content, usability and how information should be presented. But whenever it came to building a site around my own work, there was always something more urgent. Eventually I decided that had to change.
For a long time, I simply did not think I needed a personal website
I have worked online for a long time. I built websites, worked with SEO, promotion and content, so I know how much work sits behind even a relatively small site when it is done properly. Maybe that is one reason I kept postponing mine. I did not want to build one just to say I had a website.
There was Facebook, Instagram and later YouTube. For everyday communication, that seemed enough. You can publish a post, share a photo, record a video and immediately see a reaction. Why add a separate website?
The answer came gradually. Social media is good at showing individual moments, but not always good at explaining the person behind them. One person may find me through a FitLine video, another through something I wrote about Norway, and someone else may know me only through business. Each person sees a small part.
I realised I did not need another publishing channel. I needed a place where someone could look around at their own pace and see the bigger picture.
Social media gives me speed. A website gives me order
I am not leaving social media. I still need it. But information there follows the feed: new posts push older ones down, and a useful piece of content can be difficult to find a week later.
On my own site, the logic is different. I decide which pages matter most, how they connect, what needs updating and what no longer belongs. It is also easier for a visitor: they do not need to scroll through months of posts to understand who I am and what I do.
Everything in one place
Personal articles, FitLine information, international business, key pages and contact details are not scattered across different platforms.
Useful content does not disappear in a feed
A good article can still be useful months or years later. If something changes, I can update it properly.
I am responsible for the whole structure
The pages, links, content and what stays on the site depend on my decisions, not on a social platform's algorithm.
After moving to Norway, there were more parts of my life that no longer fitted into one profile
In November 2023, my family and I moved from Ukraine to Norway. That did not make me an expert on Norway, but it gave me a lot of new personal experience: another country, another language, everyday adaptation, family decisions and the question of what to build next.
At the same time, I started paying much more attention to my own well-being. I quit smoking, moved more and paid closer attention to sleep and food. FitLine came into our lives during that period. Later I began developing a partner business with PM-International.
This made the limitation of a single social profile even clearer. I do not want someone to see one product photo and assume that FitLine is my whole identity. But I also do not want to pretend that FitLine and the business are unrelated to what I do. They are simply different parts of my life today.
That is why SHCHOKIN.PRO contains personal stories, family, Norway, health, FitLine and business. Each subject, however, should have its own place. An article about my parents should not suddenly turn into a product pitch, while a FitLine page should answer practical questions about products and buying options.
After years in SEO, the last thing I want is a website filled with articles written only for search engines
I understand keywords, site structure, internal linking and search optimisation. SEO matters here. But if an article gives a reader nothing useful, the right keywords and a good headline will not make it useful. For this site, meaning and usefulness come first. Optimisation comes after that.
I do not want to publish something simply because the site “needs more content”. If the subject has nothing to say, it is better not to write it.
What happened to me stays my experience. Product and company information should be checked separately.
A visitor should know where to go next, where to find details and how to contact me if something is still unclear.
I want the site to help someone understand who I am before we start discussing anything else
That is the simplest answer to why SHCHOKIN.PRO exists. I cannot put my whole story into one message, explain how I came to FitLine, why I am building with PM-International and what matters to me when working with people.
On the site, a person can look through all of that independently. Some people may simply enjoy the personal articles. Some will arrive while looking for FitLine information. Others may be interested in the partner business. And some will read a few pages and decide it is not for them. That is fine too.
I prefer that to trying to squeeze everything into one promotional message. Information and a normal introduction first. After that, the person can decide whether they want anything else.
One point is important here: SHCHOKIN.PRO is my tool because websites and online promotion have been part of my work for years. Someone who simply wants to use FitLine or start a partnership with PM-International does not need to build a website, understand SEO or copy my route. People bring different strengths, and there is already a system, training and support for getting started.
For me, this is where SHCHOKIN.PRO really begins
I do not know how many articles will be here in a few years or which new subjects will appear. But I know what I do not want: a website that turns into a warehouse of texts published for the sake of quantity.
I would like to be able to open this first article years from now and still recognise the reason I started: to bring my experience, my work and what I am doing today together in one clear place.
From here, you can go deeper in whichever direction is useful to you. There is a separate page about me, other personal articles, a FitLine section and an international business section. You do not need to read everything in order. Start with what actually interests you.
Send me a short message with what you want to know. I reply personally.
