My First Mountain Hike After Almost Three Years in Norway

Some moments look very simple from the outside. But for you, they can carry a whole story. For me, one of those moments was a mountain hike together with Olena and our FitLine team.

My First Mountain Hike After Almost Three Years in Norway

The day before, there was a presentation, real conversations and our FitLine team. The next day, there was a mountain. For some people, it was just a walk. For me, it was a moment when I understood: I can do more again than I had been thinking lately.

Short version

This is a story about a simple day that became important to me: people around, the road to the mountain, Olena next to me and the feeling that I am slowly getting back my movement, energy and belief in myself.

I do not want to make a big drama out of this.

There are just some things that are ordinary for one person, but mean a lot to someone else.

For someone, hiking up a mountain in Norway is a normal weekend walk.

For me, it was my first hike like this after almost three years of living here.

I had been putting off walks like this for a long time. Not because I did not want to go. There was just a lot of caution inside. My back, physical load, doubts, fear that it might be difficult afterwards.

But this time I got up and went.

On the way to the mountain

Our FitLine Team and a Simple Road Forward

In this photo, our FitLine team is on the way to the mountain. There is nothing artificial here. Just people, fresh air, conversation, the road and the feeling that sometimes movement begins exactly like this: without unnecessary noise, step by step.

On the way to the mountain. I am at the very end, but for me, the important thing was not my place in the photo. The important thing was that I went together with everyone.

Why This Was Important to Me

We have been living in Norway for almost three years now.

There are many places here where you want to go: mountains, trails, lakes, views, nature that is always close.

But for a long time, I did not dare to go on hikes like this.

Because of my back. Because of fear. Because of inner caution.

I had back problems, and I remember very well that feeling when before any physical load you think: what if it gets worse, what if I cannot walk normally afterwards, what if the pain comes back stronger.

The doctor also advised me to be careful with physical load.

And when you live like that for a long time, caution slowly becomes a habit.

You are no longer just protecting your back. You begin to protect yourself from many things that could bring back the feeling of life.

What I Felt That Day

  • I did something I had been putting off for a long time
  • Olena was next to me
  • Our FitLine team was there
  • It felt easier than I had imagined
  • I felt more confidence
  • That day gave me a new inner push

Sometimes We Get Used to Our Own Limits

Sometimes a person lives carefully for a long time.

At first, it is necessary. Then it becomes a habit. And later, you do not even check anymore whether you can or cannot do something.

You just automatically tell yourself: better not.

I am not saying that we should ignore health. On the contrary, you have to listen to yourself.

But sometimes it is worth looking honestly: is this really my limit, or is it an old fear?

For me, that mountain became exactly this kind of question.

In the Last Weeks, I Have Really Felt More Energy

Lately, I have started paying more attention to how I feel.

More energy. A clearer head. Easier mornings. More desire to move. Less of that feeling that the day starts with no strength already.

I am not trying to convince anyone.

I am simply writing honestly about what is happening with me.

And because of that, I dared to try a little more.

Not to run. Not to prove anything. Just to go.

Olena Was Next to Me

This is also important to me.

When your person is next to you, many things feel different.

Not because someone has to walk the path instead of you. But because there is support nearby.

Olena and I have been together for many years. We have had different seasons: moves, tiredness, worries, new beginnings, difficult periods and moments when we simply had to hold on.

That is why this photo on the mountain is not only about the view for me.

It is about the fact that we keep going. Together. Without beautiful speeches. Just for real.

A personal moment

This Photo Is About a Small Victory for Me

Behind this photo, there is not only a mountain. There is a decision to try, an inner fear, Olena’s support and the feeling that I still managed to do it.

Olena and I on the mountain. For someone, this is just a photo. For me, it is the moment when I felt: I can do more than I had thought about myself.

These Two Days Became One Story

First there was a presentation. People. Conversation. Feedback. Questions. A feeling of a new direction.

And the next day, there was the road. The mountain. Olena next to me. People ahead. And me, the person who had not dared for a long time, but finally went.

On one hand, these were just two days.

On the other hand, a new stage is often built exactly from moments like this.

When you start doing something, new people, new conversations, new decisions and small victories begin to appear in life.

I Do Not Want to Look at Myself Only Through My Limits

Caution is needed.

You have to listen to your body.

But I do not want to live as if everything good is no longer for me.

I do not want to automatically say “I cannot” without even trying.

This hike does not prove anything to other people.

But it told me a lot.

I can still move forward.

For Me, This Is Also About Environment

I often think about how strongly people around us influence us.

When there are people nearby who do something, learn, try, ask questions, move and do not stand still, you also begin to look differently at your own possibilities.

This is not about someone pulling you.

It is about an atmosphere where it is easier to take your own step.

Our FitLine team is exactly about this for me right now: people, experience, learning, support and normal communication.

I Like That Everything Starts Simply

In business, in health, in recovery, in a new life after moving, everything often starts not with a big jump.

It starts with a small step.

You try. You feel. You go. You ask. You meet someone. You share. You climb a little higher than yesterday.

Sometimes these simple steps slowly change a person.

What I Took From This Hike

You do not have to wait until fear completely disappears.

You do not have to run fast.

You do not have to prove anything to anyone.

Sometimes it is enough to simply take your step.

For me, that step was this mountain hike.

After almost three years in Norway. After a long time of being careful. After the inner thought: better not risk it.

I got up and went.

And that matters to me.
